We look forward to your participation during EGHA’s annual meeting.

 

Special Guest: Robyn Denson, Pierce County Council District 7. 

 

Pierce County Presentation: We will hear from experts about safely managing our lives in an urban forest. Pierce County Emergency Management, Fire Prevention Chief Tom Wescott, and Pierce County Public Works will cover topics including Emergency Response, Fire Hazards, Road and Traffic safety. Following there will be a Q&A session.

 

Urban Forest Tree Health: Arno Bergstrom, WSU Emeritus Forester, will discuss our Urban Forest and tree health to reduce the risks to our neighborhoods, roadways, power and telecom lines. Arno has offered to examine EGHA members’ trees to identify potential concerns.

 

Tonight’s Discussion: Provide answers to “Who You Gonna Call” when East Gig Harbor needs help and discuss an alert system for EGHA members using the EGHA.org website

Katie Arthur-
Katie has served with Pierce County Emergency Management for six years and currently holds the role of Outreach Coordinator. In this capacity, she leads hazard prevention training across the county, helping communities stay informed and prepared for emergencies.

Jacquelyn Meier-
Jacquelyn Meier is an experienced emergency management professional with over eight years of leadership in disaster preparedness across higher education and local government. She currently leads the Preparedness Section at Pierce County Emergency Management, focusing on outreach, planning, and training and exercise. Jacquelyn holds a B.S. in Business Administration, a certificate in Community Preparedness and Disaster Management, and is a 2023 graduate of the FEMA Advanced Academy.

Mark Schumacher-
Mark Schumacher is the Maintenance & Operations Division Manager for Pierce County Planning and Public Works. He has worked for Pierce County for 17 years including 11 in Surface Water Management and six in Maintenance and Operations. An environmental geologist by training, and longtime Gig Harbor resident since 1981, Mark is committed to delivering high-quality public service that supports safe and reliable transportation throughout Pierce County.

Thomas Wescott-
Tom Wescott is the Division Chief of Fire Prevention at Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One. He brings over 25 years of experience in the fire service, including 22 years in Operations with the Anchorage Fire Department and the past two years serving the Gig Harbor community.
