If you plan to light fireworks, here are the rules for unincorporated Pierce County: Fireworks are allowed only on July 4 (10 a.m. - 11:59 p.m.) and New Year's Eve (6 p.m. - 1 a.m. Jan. 1). You can report illegal fireworks at 253-287-4455 or 800-562-9800. Violations outside these times can incur a $600 fine. Reckless use of fireworks is a gross misdemeanor.
